Unit 10

EE Challenge

Well I finall passed Unit 10. They tried to stop me, throwing a 2 part lab at me just to throw me off. But I’m done now, and they can’t take that away from me. Now I am suddenly again in the akward position of needing to find a girl to ask. Bummer.

So I’m getting a laptop. Yay! This of course means that I will spend even less time in my apartment. Maybe I should have just lived on campus in the sense of sleeping in the Union/Business School/Taylor Basement. It sure would be a lot cheaper than Sterling Apartments.

I’m really excited about working on the Austin Stone’s website. I finally got to meet the other people on the team and now have some things to work on. Now if only I could convince my professors to stop giving homework.

I think I’ve finally given up on the blog system of last year where I recanted the events since the previous post. There’s just too many events, and not enough posts. Since the last post there’s been

  • ACM Big Event + after party
  • Kappa Delta Mixer
  • Sam’s Birthday Parties
  • Meeting with Kevin Peck
  • ROI speaker
  • a hundred small events

So basically my life is too flippin complicated. Gosh. (in tribute to the pledge who did the Napolean Dynamite dance at open party)

The EE Challenge

The EE Challenge

So I finally decied to crack down on EE, and here’s my incentive.

OU weekend was awesome, except for the score.

Six Flags: BPK, got Tom Adams, Brandon Harvill and Myself into the park for free, and Parker Bassett came with his season pass. B Harv, being the lady killer that he is, invited 4 Phi Lamb pledges, so it was nearly even. We stayed at the park til it closed at 11, pretty awesome. Courtney won a season pass by eating Spam. Brian knew many people at the park, and we generally caused a ruckus by doing every cheer we knew at the begining of every ride.

Since I didn’t have a ticket, I needed to find a place to watch the game. The pledges who came to 6 flags, invited me to the place they were staying. Turns out there were like 30 Phi Lambs sleeping at that house and I ended up watching the game with 15 girls, as the only guy until Mark (a BYX alum) showed up halfway through the second quarter with his girlfriend. Chillaxed after the game for a while until going over to Santosh’s as a jumping off point to Shannon’s party…

Shannon, a tri-delt who’s friends with a bunch of BYX guys, had her 21st birthday party saturday night. It was a perfect party for me, I knew enough people there that I could be introduced to anybody I didn’t know very easily. But at the same time there were enough people I didn’t know to keep it interesting. Also the party was big, but it was divided across so many rooms that at any time i was never overwhelmed, cuz once a party passes like 25 people I start feeling like energy has been sucked out of me. I guess that’s just my introverted side getting the best of me. So anyway, really awesome party.

Woke up next day, drove home, napped through the beginning of Stone and went to UCC. Then made the ee316 page. Finally took an inkblot test the results of which are below:

Dave, your subconscious mind is driven most by Curiositycuriosity inkblot

You are full of questions about life, people, and your own potential. You spend more time than others imagining the possibilities for your life — and you’re open to things others are too afraid to consider.

You have an almost physical need to know and do more. It’s only through new experiences that you feel a greater understanding of yourself and the world. You also have a rebellious streak that shows up when you feel unable to truly influence the world or circumstances around you. Your appetite for novel experiences also shows an openness others don’t have, but wish they did.

Your psyche is very rich; the more you learn about it, the more you will understand who you really are.

I could’ve told me that.

I feel like I have direction, the Electrical Engineering department disagrees

I need more time.
